RAISED ON A PLOW

Written & Composed by Ron Tremper

(Verse 1)
I was born where the dirt ran deep
By a barn that housed our horses and sheep
Learned to walk in rubber boots too big
Loved chasing after my daddy's John Deere rig
Our rooster crowed, each morning called
I gave the fields nothing less than my all

(Chorus)
RAISED ON A PLOW, raised in the sun
Raised on the sweat till the work got done
Every furrow carved taught me how
A farmer ain't made, till he's
RAISED ON A PLOW!!!
Raised by the rain, on a thirsty land
A determined mind and a steady hand
Each row I planted, not a weed I'd allow
A farmer ain't made, till he's
RAISED ON A PLOW!!!

(Verse 2)
I know the language of a tractor's hum
Can mend a fence before the cows can run
My hands bear the stories, callused and true
Of summers that burned and winters that blew
Dreams of the city flickered, but never stayed
'Cause this farmer could never fade

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
I learned that hard times don't break you
They shape you like the seasons do
And when the harvest moon, is aglow
I'll be living the only life, I care to know

(Chorus)
RAISED ON A PLOW, without regrets
Raised to remember and never forget
Each acre tilled taught me how
A farmer ain't made, till he's
RAISED ON A PLOW!!! raised in the sun
Raised on the sweat till the work got done
Every furrow carved taught me how
This farmer was made, yeah this farmer was made
RAISED ON A PLOW!!!
